What is an IBCLC?

IBCLC stands for International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. An IBCLC is a health care professional who is nationally recognized and board certified in lactation management.

IBCLC's help support families throughout their breastfeeding journeys. This journey may look different and unique with each individual family and their specific needs.

What are the benefits of visiting with an IBCLC?

The benefits are endless!
The first 2-4 weeks of a breastfeeding journey can be the most challenging. Seeing a
Lactation Consultant early on can be beneficial during this time. Studies show, the more support a breastfeeding family has, the more likely a mother is to continue breastfeeding!

What can an IBCLC help with?

Just to name a few, an IBCLC can assist with difficulty latching, over-supply, increasing supply, infant weight concerns, management of oral ties, pumping, combo-feeding, reflux symptoms, transitioning from bottle to breast, creating a plan for mothers returning to work and many more.
